Tag Team Review w Sara FIVE HEARTS I love reading romance.I love reading about all types of protagonists the socially awkward, the ultra suave, the shy, the grumpy, etc Hell even the super possessive alpha has a place and time Call it fantasy, guilty pleasure, whatever,...

4.5 starsI really, really enjoyed this Edward and Jack are dreamy together the first part of the book reminded me of the movie Notting Hill with Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts but a few things threw me off just enough to drop a half star. The honeymoon period was so short it made my head spin One minute they were having an emotion filled sexual encounter and the next an angst wall hit them full force For the healing comfort during the PTSD symptoms, I really needed a stronger connection for these boys Because of this, Edward taking Jack into his home to help him heal seemed wrong and too quick This part could have benefited from a few dates between the two while they were happy Another small peeve was that the author avoided the words or slang for cock and asshole but did describe what these two were doing He gave him a few long strokes He pushed in gently etc It was distracting during the sex I felt like I was watching them through a veil If that makes sense Kinda weird, but the sex was very emotional. But once the two men got to know each other better, things picked up and I was a happy camper These boys were delightful together Warm and loving and funny and intimate They made the whole story a win for me.I also loved the diverse secondary characters They really lov...

First, the good stuff Interesting MCs I especially liked that Jack was so vulnerable and his PTSD wasn t brushed aside, and that Edward was not a typical self absorbed nobleman he was charming and genuinely interested in people Flirting The chemistry between Jack and Edward was palpable from the beginning Great secondary characters, particularly Matilda Decent amount of steam HEA I loved the last chapter And that brings me to the not so good stuff Lots and lots of angst and drama Jack s PTSD the assault charges the paparazzi There was A LOT going on in this story that wasn t romance As soon as Jack and Edward got together, the universe conspired against them I felt overwhelmed at times We only get Jack s POV, which was really disappointing I wanted to get in Edward s head something fierce Certain parts of the book just really dragged it took me a while to get into the story, and, truth be told, Private Truths n...

C.B Lewis is definitely one of my favorite new to me authors that I discovered in 2016 Private Truths is the 4th story of hers that I read and it s another satisfying one.Jack is an army veteran who works at Those Returned, a charity for veterans Jack finds himself being drawn toward Edward Marsden, Viscount Routhsley who sponsors the charity Despite the differences of their social status, Jack and Edward decide to give the attraction a chance Until news from a tabloid that has been speculating on Edward s sexuality threatens to expose the relationship I m not usually a fan of stories related to famous people especially when one of both of them are in the closet The secrecy, the frustration, the stress due to the protecting one s reputation amidst the pressure of being in the public eye, sometimes disrupts the romance for me.So, what I loved about Private Truths is how solid Jack and Edward were together, despite the ordeals coming from ramifications of how Jack handled the hounding reporter There is a level of hurt comfort here...

3.5 stars This was a new to me author, and I quite enjoyed the book see what I did there with my British accent The story is very well written, especially right out of the gate Edward is a posh aristocrat, who is used to the paparazzi Jack is a war veteran, who is also used to the paparazzi because he is often seen handing out food and other essentials to the homeless veterans around town He s a bit of a quiet hero to those he serves. When these two meet, it s lightning and serious chemistry at first sight Their flirting always put a smile on my face I really enjoyed the first part of the book Aaaaaand then all the other crap happened Unfortunately, for me, the rest of the book was rife with dealing with the paparazzi Just one thing after another It just went on and on and on And, because of the events, we saw Jack s PTSD That part was written beautifully, but by then, I just wanted some time with Edward and Jack. All of...

5 Hearts Tag team review with my fellow ginger loving SRAL This was romantic Oh so romantic with an engaging plot and character development that kept me so bloody glued to the page and in the story, I forgot to eat Yeah, it was one of those books So before I get into this review, I need to say that I have five pages of notes and quotes that I don t know what to do with There is so much in this story, so much than the blurb even alludes to that I don t know where to begin or what to share without giving too much away This story is what I call an onion you think you are getting what you see on the surface and yet the you read, the stronger the story becomes and things happen to your eyes Seriously though So I m gonna try to not ramble but, yeah It s my way Jack wondered when his world had become so off balance Probably, he thought, about the same time a tall, blond gentleman stepped into his life and confused everything Jack McCall, our wonderfully freckled ginger narrator, an ex Army combat veteran, works his tail off with a charity Those Returned, a charity who aids veterans with the transitions back home and into civilian life It s not an easy job but it is one Jack takes great responsibility that when Jack is assigned the task of seeking out Edward Marsden, aka Viscount Routhsley, to get him to contribute the charity, a simple act of human ...

I feel like I should have liked this Don t get me wrong, it s a well made book, I like the MCs, I like the cast and within the context of the book, I found the actions of the MCs very believable I think my beef with this book is probably that I found the premise a little flimsy. But, really, never mind me I m a little grouchy at the moment because I finished a book I p...

Privacy is something most of us take for granted, at least where our personal lives are concerned I know I d never miss mine unless it was threatened and then I m sure I d realize quite quickly that it is a treasure to be protected, especially when it comes under attack Lack of privacy is something celebrities and politicians face on a daily basis, but how they deal with it varies from person to person. The two main characters of this novel, Army vet Jack and aristocrat Edward, are both in the public eye, if for different reasons, and have accepted it as part of what they do But when they become involved and their relationship might be exposed with adverse consequences for the work they do, it is a different matter This novel is the story of not just their romance, but also their dilemma will they deny what is going on, break up, and continue their charitable work or will they accept living their life in the public eye so they can be together Not an easy decision in any circumstances, but it is far stressful since they have to make it while the press haunts them and public pressure almost crushes them.Jack is an Army veteran, has dealt with addiction, and has found new purpose working for Those Returned, a charity for veterans He is just trying to do the decent thing, helping those who have fallen on harder times than he did, and he is excellent at it Good enough to have garnered a reputation wi...

4.5 stars Okay C.B Lewis this is 3 for 3 from you I am in love with your writing and stories You are so close to being a favorite author for me Definitely an auto buy for me Time Lost is on my Best Books of 2016 Private Truths is a contemporary romance novel set England It s slow paced and methodical in plot I ve been dreaming of you writing a contemporary novel and you have blown my expectations This romance was steady paced with an actual plot I loved the Nobelman and the Ex Army guy falling in love You can see the moment both guys start falling in love Their relationship was purely sex at a point, but after an unfortunate event they care thrust together and the love, trust and devotion gradually makes an interest Told from Jack s pov and brilliant done, I really got to see the starting point of Jack s interest in Edward and his love for his job.Jack works at Those Returned a charity for veterans Jack is uber passionate about his job He loves making the nightly runs whether its feeding his brother in arms, or clothing them, or just checking up on them Jack talks about his past sparingly We know he suffered injuries while in the military Certain incidents happen when events from 5 years ago becomes public He s closed himself off to his best friend because of an accident I would call ...
